Honor Your Mother

Mothers are truly special because they carry their babies for nine months. A mother also spends several years raising her child and trying to show him the right direction. A mother is an irreplaceable person. She will stick by her child even when the whole world deserts him. She will love her child even when he chooses to misbehave. Again, there is no one like a mother so people who are fortunate enough to still have their mother around should honor and cherish her.
The Bible says in Exodus 20:12 and Ephesians 6:2 that you are to honor your mother. It also goes on to state that people who honor their mothers will live a long productive life. Honoring your parents is one of the Ten Commandments. Obeying the Ten Commandments is one of the key things that one must do to maintain a close relationship with the heavenly father.
Religion is not the only reason that we should honor our mothers. Mothers do a lot and sacrifice so much for their children. Today, there are many mothers playing the role of a father. Being a mother is hard enough, but when a woman does not have any help, raising a child can be even more difficult. Honoring and respecting his mother is the least that a child can do.
The second Sunday in May is set aside to honor mothers. However, people should take the time to honor their mothers every day. One of the most amazing things about mothers is that even though they do a lot, they usually do not expect anything in return. Honoring you mother is a very simple thing one sits and reflects on all of the things that she has done for him.
