Guidance in 1 Timothy 4:12
Posted by Joe on 6/12/2012 to Scripture
We forget that the Bible doesn't say youth cannot provide positive influence for others in the name of God.

God provides guidance in this area. “Don't let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith and in purity.”

It is more difficult to set an example in our modern world, especially when every guy you run into wearing a Christian T-shirt doesn’t live up to expectations. Fortunately, Jesus has provided us with steps that will allow us to set an example.

1) Don't let anyone look down on you because you are young. Accept that while others may be wiser, more well versed, or have more experience, it does not mean you are unable to exhibit your love and devotion for Jesus.

2) Demonstrate: “but set an example for the believers in speech, made in conduct, in love, in faith and in purity.” Your words must reflect your commitment to Christ. You must also demonstrate your commitment in your actions. You must show your love, both of Christ and of others. Show your faith in all that you do. Lastly, you must show your commitment in purity.

Remember these things and you’ll be the truly spiritual guy in the Christian T-shirt.
